WHO WE ARE

GoGreenFlow is a Kenyan social enterprise turning one of Africa’s most persistent environmental challenges—the invasive water hyacinth—into a source of women’s empowerment, ecological restoration, and community well-being.

What once choked our lakes now fuels livelihoods and menstrual dignity. Through sustainable innovation, GoGreenFlow produces 100% biodegradable, compostable menstrual pads from processed water hyacinth fibers—offering a dual solution to pollution and period poverty.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS

Across East Africa, over 65% of women and girls lack access to safe, affordable menstrual products, leading to school absenteeism, lost income, and health risks. Meanwhile, water hyacinth covers up to 70% of Lake Victoria’s shoreline, damaging ecosystems and local livelihoods.

GoGreenFlow bridges these crises through a women-led circular economy model that transforms ecological waste into economic opportunity. By converting invasive plants into eco-friendly pads, we reduce pollution, restore waterways, and create dignified green jobs for women rebuilding their futures.

Every pad tells a story of regeneration - from waterway to workshop to well-being.
